Little Us With Little McKenzie and Her Growing Personality

Oh, wow! She looks so much like the both of us, but look at that resemblance to Lane. What a cutie!

She's even got her "I LOVE daddy" shirt on.

I cannot believe she is almost 2-years-old. I'm pretty sure all I did was blink or maybe take a nap (not that I have time for that luxury anymore) and all of a sudden she turned into a little girl. It is so much fun watching her huge personality develop, although some days she's giving us a nice preview of what the terrible two's might be all about. Time to practice my patient mommy approach to life. 

 She is learning that she is her own person and there is much independence and decision-making that comes with that realization. Climbing anything and everything, pushing every button (literal and figurative) within reach and making every attempt to get to the ones out of reach, slamming all the doors shut (luckily no smashed fingers yet; knock on wood), and very expressively telling us "NO!"

It's not all frustrating though. Besides the few things that make us grit our teeth, McKenzie is growing into a beautiful, caring, and sweet little girl. She already says please and thank you consistently. She never fails to say bless you anytime she hears a sneeze (stranger's sneezes included). She will take our face in her hands and give us the sweetest little kisses. When she says "Yuv yoo" it makes me the happiest mommy in the world. It is absolutely adorable when she oh so gently puts her babies down for nap, tucks them in, and pats them while saying "night, night" in a hushed tone. This list of pure awesomeness could go on forever.

I can't wait to see how her personality and character continue to develop as she grows into a beautiful young lady. At the same time it does make me a little sad to see my baby change into a little girl.
