39 Weeks and Counting: Still No Baby

So, here we are at 39 weeks and 4 days. If you read my last post, then you know that we were under the impression that baby boy was going to make an early appearance. 

Technically he still could. His official due date isn't until Tuesday the 5th. We just thought he might be over a week early based on my progression a couple weeks ago; not that I'm complaining.

My last doctor's appointment was this past Tuesday, March 29th at 39 weeks exactly. I was still around 2 cm dilated with 60-70% effacement. I have been having plenty of Braxton Hicks contractions, but I'm pretty much in a holding pattern now.

I guess I should be really glad he hasn't decided to get here yet, because I have definitely been dragging my feet on getting stuff done. I just got our hospital bag packed today! Yep, I'm cutting it close.

Who knows... He may be like his sister and end up being a few days late. Babies just run on their own schedule.

Almost 38 Weeks and He Could Be Early!

I am 37 weeks and 6 days pregnant today. Woah!

I went in for a checkup last Thursday, at 37 weeks and 2 days, to find out that I am definitely 2 cm dilated and have reached 60% effacement. 

As she was leaving my room, my awesome OB (and I really do mean that) said she wouldn't be surprised if he got here in two weeks, but was sure he wouldn't get here in as little as one week.
Um Ok...

Just as a reference: My due date is April 5th.
Two weeks from my last appointment would be March 31st. That's five days early!
One week would be March 24th.
So, at this point it's just a matter of how quickly my body wants to progress into labor.

Oh, and this kid is already measuring in at 7 lb 9 oz and he'll just keep getting bigger! His sister was 
8 lb 10 oz (after I was repeatedly told she would be an average weight of about 7.5 lb). We were all surprised!

I keep telling him to stay put, but I really don't want him to pack on any more wight before I have to give birth to him. 

Early baby or huge baby. Maybe both?! Who wants to place bets? Haha!

36 Weeks Pregnant Already!

I am already 36 weeks pregnant! When did that even happen?!

Time has gone by so fast with this pregnancy. I guess that will happen when you have a toddler to entertain the entire time. Whew!

This little boy is going to be huge! FYI his sister was 8 lb. 10 oz.

I went in for my 36 week checkup on Wednesday and everything was looking good. Baby boy's heartbeat sounded great and he has been moving like crazy.

He likes to stretch his legs out which makes my belly go all wonky. His little booty juts out on my right and his feet poke out on my left. Oh, and he really likes to punch my bladder while simultaneously kicking my ribs. It's both a wonderful and completely indescribable sensation.

I found out that I am already between 1 and 2 cm dilated, but no effacement yet. What?! He's not allowed to get here early. I've got things to get done.

I have been having Braxton Hicks contractions for a couple weeks, now. So, my body is definitely in getting ready mode, but the due date's not till April 5th. I'll just keep telling him to hold tight, but who knows if he'll listen.

Now, off to work on my huge to do list before he decides to make his debut.
